   マグルの意地悪に悩まされたハリーの憂鬱な日々は、優しい大男のハグリッドが運んできた不思議な手紙によって一変する。「貴殿のホグワーツ魔法学校への入学が許可されたことを、ここにお知らせいたします」もちろんバーノンおじさんが黙っているはずはない。「おまえに魔法などというインチキを教える頭のおかしな奴らにカネなど払えん！」それでも、無事フクロウのヘドウィグと一緒にホグワーツへ向かうことになったハリー……いよいよ本当の――ユーモラスで、恐ろしくて、スリルたっぷりの――冒険が始まる。

   読み出したら止まらない何とも魅力的な1冊。これからもずっと古典として読みつがれることは間違いない。続編を待ち望む子どもたちの声が聞こえてくるようだ。（8－13歳向け）

まあ、おもしろいです（英語本初心者用かな）
　私は定年後の趣味としてドイツ語を学んでいる男性です。この本のドイツ語版を購入したのですが、子供向きの内容のはずですが、私にはまだすこし難しかったので、独英比較しながら読んでみようと、この本（英国英語版）を買いました。ドイツ語版と英語版は、ほぼ一対一で対応しているようです（まだ全部比較したわけではありませんが）。ただし、英語で一行の文章がドイツ語版では二行になったりしているので、ドイツ語版は約二倍の厚さです。
　英語版は、比較的平易な文章で、判らない単語があってもあまり気にせずに読み進んでも大意はつかめます。日本語訳は読んだことはないので、私の理解が正しいかどうかは知りませんが、あまり気にしていません。気楽な読み物として、お勧めします。

これで英語の勉強をします

映画でも有名な作品ですが、一度しっかり原書で読んでみたいと思っていました。やはり本のほうが詳しく説明されていて味わい深いものがあります。

まだ全部読み終えていませんが英語の勉強と兼ねて楽しんでいます。

でも、ブックカバーをしていないと傷つきやすいです。
英語に自信のある方でないとアメリカ独特のニュアンスがあるので
難しいかと思います。

空き時間にこつこつと
DVDで大体話を知っているのでわからないところもなんとなく予想しながら読み進めています。

ハリーポッター
ハリーポッターシリーズのペーパーバック本です。英語に挑戦です。子供むけの本で、英語は平易なのですが、幻想的で抽象的な表現や、崩した言い回しも多く、結構読みにくかったです。英語初級者学習用には、意外と不向きだと感じました。
