しっかりした動物の絵を自分で簡単に描ける！
値段が安い割りにはとても役に立つ本だと思います。中の動物のスケッチはラフの線そのまま残してうつすから、その線を参考して自分で描いてみたら非常に助かったと思います。しっかりした絵を描くには骨格や筋肉の知識がないと無理なので、この本にも載っています。この本の魅力的なところと言えば、動物を描くことは実に難しくない、簡単に描ける方法を見せてくれます。英語がわかる人は書かれたポイントや注意点を利用すればいいと思います。（たとえば初心者はどんなミスをしがちなのか、それぽく描きたいならどんな工夫を入れるといいとか）

絵が豊富で解りやすい
洋書なので読めないのでは?と思いつつも購入しましま。届いてすぐに開いてみると英文はわずか10%くらいでしょうか、ほとんどが絵なので 英文が苦手でも見ているだけで楽しいです。
また様々な動物の動きのある絵や、骨格の構造から身体全体のバランスも解りやすく描かれています。

とにかくお買い得
動物の絵が、ほぼ表紙のような感じのタッチで描かれています。
そのため、どういう線で描けば動物がそれっぽく＆生き生きして描けるかが分かります。
骨格や筋肉の大まかな形も解説されています。しかし、筋肉の”超”詳細な図はほとんど在りませんので、リアル絵師さまは、この本＋ほかの本を買ってください。

ほとんど絵で説明されている
とにかく、説明文は少ない。その分、絵が多くて とても良い。
骨格や筋肉も 簡易に描かれていて分かり易く、
その動物の雰囲気を掴むのに大いに役立つ。
走りなどの連続した動きを描いているページも、少ないがあり、
模写をするに丁度よい量です。
「動物画の描き方―生き生きと描く秘訣」が日本語版なのかな？

初心者にもお勧め
初心者にもお勧めできる動物デッサンの本だと思います。でもとりあえず、安すぎ!!という感想です。洋書なので全編英語ですが、絵の本なので全然読めなくても大丈夫です。和書であったとしたら3分の1くらいの厚さで3倍くらいの値段がついているだろうと思える充実した内容です。
かわいい絵も載っていますが、かわいいだけの絵ではなくそこには生き生きとした動きのある世界があります。かわいいだけの動物の絵に飽きた方には是非見てもらいたい本ですね。
