写真ではなく、イラストの図版
表紙を見ると動物の骨格を映したレントゲン「写真」のような内容が連想されますが、本書の図版はすべて「デッサン」によるものです。
「骨格」はよくまとめられているので良い参考資料になると思います。「筋肉」に関してはやや見劣りします。「臓器」の図版はありません。

収録されているのは「哺乳類（ｺｳﾓﾘ有）」のみで、「鳥類」「爬虫類」「魚類」などが無いのが残念でした。
大雑把に見れば哺乳類の骨格にはそれほど差異が無いので、もっと類別に様々な骨格が掲載されているものが希望でした。

実用だけでなく、素敵な「オマケ」としての後半部分。
哺乳類の解剖図集。馬、犬、ライオン、牛、ヤギ、鹿、イエネコ、猿、アザラシ、ウサギ、ネズミ、ムササビ、蝙蝠の図版が収録されています。

後半の図版、特に猿のページ以降のものは古い文献からなので、美術用ならば実用には向かないかも知れませんが、資料としては興味深いものではあります。
これらは、かの有名な博物・分類学者キュヴィエ・ジョルジュ
（巻末の資料を読む限りでは、彼の死後、1849年に発行されたAnatomie Compareeからの引用のようです。1800年発行の研究書Lecons d'anatomie compareeに同じ図版が載っているかはちょっと確認できません…）
の名がついている資料なので、いずれ絵画など文化的な目的で本書を購入なさるならば、これらはそれなりに魅力的な「オマケ」になるかと思います。

粘土細工にも最適
絵はもちろんのこと、粘土・彫刻等の製作においても非常に参考になります。
「ありもしない想像の筋肉を付けてしまい、イマイチリアリティーに欠ける」といった作品にはならないでしょう。
基礎骨格が理解できることにより、デフォルメした動物を書くときにも特徴を捉えた良い作品が完成することと思います。

筋肉と骨のみ
馬、ライオン、犬、牛、ヤギの骨格と筋肉が精密な絵で載っています。
動物の動きの解析はまったく無く、骨と筋肉の図版のみです。
おまけとしてこうもりや猿などのものもありますが、こちらは本当におまけ程度です。

筋肉と骨の名前がほぼ網羅されているので、馬とライオンの骨格を比べたり、
人間のものと照らし合わせたりすることができて理解しやすかったです。

良書
犬　ライオン　馬　ウサギ等の骨格や筋肉が癖の無い図版でパーツごとに分かり易く載っています　図版も大きくとても見やすいです
