An awesome book
Love every book in this series. Can't wait for the movie to come out but I doubt it will do any justice to the intensity of this book. A must read!

邦訳は読んでいないのですが．．．
この商品のBook Description（日本語）に、「「撃て」とつぶやくと同時に、」というくだりがありますが、あり得ない間違いです。この場面、エドワードからのプレゼントの包みを開けようとして、ほんの少し指を切ったベラが「やっちゃった」「しまった！」というような意味で「shoot」とつぶやきます。「shit」というスラングをもう少し柔らかくした表現です。
もしこれが邦訳からの抜粋なら、びっくりなんですけど．．．

作品自体は可もなく不可もなく、でしょうか。ラブストーリーとしてはまる人が多いのはわかりますが、情景描写などは物語に深みを与えられるほどのものではなく、登場人物の行動や感情表現も言葉の選び方にあまり工夫がなくて、同じ単語や表現が何度も使われるので、それが一層うすっぺらい印象につながります。話がどこへ行きつくのかという興味はあるので２巻目以降も読むと思いますが、いい意味で期待を裏切られてみたいと思っています。

Heartbreaking...
This is the only book of the series that I'm afraid to reread.It sounds silly but I just can't take the sadness of the "lost of true love" in this book.I'm just so sad reading it's few early chapters. Her love was gone and it seems you really feel the emotions Bella had after Edward left her.I'm a little down after knowing the twist of the events of the story.I tried reading so fast that I can't wait until I get to the chapter that Edward finally come back.Mixed emotions were running through me.I was ecstatic at times.The book was really a heartbreak for a reader that is if you're so "into it".Yes it's sad but sweet at the end and you just can't stop craving for more..

前半は許せる。
シリーズの中で最も心情の描写が繊細で、日本の恋愛小説にも通ずるものを感じさせます。特にベラが次の恋に進むかどうか、完全には切り替えられないけど止まってもいられない、そんな思いが堂々巡りする場面は前作に比べ妙にリアリティーがあります。

他の方のレビューを読んでるとやはりEdward派が多いみたいですが、私は今作で完全にEdwardにお別れを告げ、Team Jacobの一員になりました。アメリカのサイトを覗いてみてかなり共感する表現があったんですが、Edwardは“all-or-nothing man”だと。まさにその通り。周りとか、後先考えようぜ！とパンチしたくなりました。

そういった意味では前半で築き上げてきた繊細な描写もリアリティーも、なんちゃってロミジュリによって見事にぶち壊されます。かなりの温度差を感じます。大体、ロミオとジュリエットは周りの勢力によって引き裂かれたけどEdwardは自分で勝手に決めて勝手に離れていった印象が…。

まあ、恋愛やロマンスを追い求める方なら後半もきっと気に入られるかと思います。

This is a fantastic continuation of the Twilight series - Stephanie Meyer does an amazing job developing the characters and plot with this second book!
